Personal information My name is Rachel and I live in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. I am happily married and have a daughter, two sons and a stepson (born 2003, 2008, 2009 & 1993) who provide me with many laughs, strength and inspiration. I am honoured to attend births in hospital, a birth centre or at home and cover South Bucks, North Herts, East Berks, North and North West London.
Philosophy and services offered Birth is an incredible, individual and emotional experience. My role is to provide you with unconditional support in order for you to feel secure, comforted and cared for, to be able to birth in the manner you wish. Whatever your personal circumstances, birth should be about creating positive memories and I will be happy to encourage your ideas and decisions. I will work respectfully alongside your midwife and provide support for your birth partner, providing you with personal space and privacy when you need it – especially for those precious moments after birth for cuddles!
My birth package includes an initial meeting, two antenatal visits at your home to discuss your wishes and anxieties, birth preparation, ideas about relaxation and ways to assist you (and your birth partner) during labour and birth, after birth care and feeding. I provide 24/7 call-out from weeks 38-42 of your pregnancy, contact throughout your pregnancy and for a period of six weeks post-birth, my full, undivided support and attention throughout your labour and birth and a postnatal visit to provide any further support you may need, discuss your birth and to see your beautiful newborn.
My services are inclusive of breastfeeding support, for as long as you may require it. If and when you need me, I will be available to listen, support and encourage you around the clock and will arrange additional home visits upon request.
Related skills and services I trained with Nurturing Birth and have completed the Doula UK assessment process to become a recognised doula. I am happy working with people whose first language is not English and can converse confidently in Spanish. I am fully insured; CRB cleared and have first aid training.
I am extremely passionate about my role as a doula and will put 100% into supporting you at this special time, which is to be treasured.
