I am married to Ian and have 3 fantastic children born in 1999, 2004 and 2005. I have always worked with families and children in different capacities since leaving school, and my experiences range from adult literacy tutoring, playscheme assistant for a special needs play scheme. Since the birth of my oldest son I have worked with disabled parents both before and after the birth of their babies to assist them and their health care professionals in finding parenting strategies. This work drew me towards training as a Doula. As I firmly believe that with the right information and support we can achieve anything. I am a very calm person and fully respect and encourage a woman’s rights to listen and understand her own body.
Services
As a Doula UK Trainee Birth Doula, I provide a birth package, which includes: 2 antenatal visits, e-mail and telephone contact, 24hr on call from 38wks until you baby is welcomed into the world and 2 post-natal visits.
As a Doula UK Trainee Post Natal Doula, I provide post-natal care in 3+ hour sessions, as often as needed for up to 8wks. Longer if either mum or baby has additional needs. I am there to help the transition into parenthood by doing light housework, watching the baby while you get some needed rest or ‘me’ time, help older children with homework etc. I am also a good cook.
